CURVE is an open access repository which holds academic research output and creative work voluntarily deposited by Carleton faculty, staff and students, as well as all dissertations and theses produced at Carleton.

Background Information

CURVE - Carleton's insitutional repository - collects, preserves and makes accessible Carleton's digital research and teaching materials.

Goals

  1. Increase exposure of research and scholarly work done at the Carleton University by making the research discoverable by major search engines and open access harvesting utilities.
  2. Making the research outputs available in non-commercial, open standards-based environment.
  3. Develop a robust infrastructure to support the submission and long-term preservation of the research outputs of the Carleton University community.
  4. Facilitate and/or integrate with administrative processes around research and research support at Carleton.
  5. Develop policy, procedural and best practice documentation to support the initiative over the long-term.

Plan Overview

This project will take a multi-phased approach, with simultaneous streams of activity. Since the project is being launched as a voluntary pilot, different user groups/ faculties may be at different stages of adoption.
