The GSC has published thousands of maps since the mid-1800s. More than 10,000 of these maps have been scanned and are available.
The aim of the project is to make ESS Geoscience maps accessible through the Internet. This was accomplished by scanning thousands of paper maps and linking these images to their metadata records. Users can now search this metadata to discover geoscience maps that they can view and download.
Link in left navigation bar to Digital Geoscience Maps leads to downloadable data in ESRI shape file format.
